How To Join

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Cahaba-Coosa Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.  To join, you must be a male lineal descendent of a patriot who provided acceptable service in the revolution against Great Britain.  That may sound hard but it can be easier that it seems.  Your Revolutionary War ancestor is probably six or seven generations back and there are lots of tools to help you find them.  This means you probably have more than 100+ ancestors to explore.

To start, use the fillable PDF Application below.  It requires that your lineage be documented to this patriot and include names of your ancestors along with birth, death, and marriage dates and locations.  We will also need to provide proof documents for each generation; your birth certificate, your parents’ (grandparents, great grandparents, …) birth and/or death certificates, marriage records, census records, wills, etc.

The current regular member application fee is $170.  Discounts are available for Junior and Youth members as well as family members joining together within three generations under the same ancestor.  Click here for the current Alabama Society Fee Chart.
